Bela Lugosi will always reign supreme. But the others did have their good points Lee who played he more times on film then any other actor brought a scariness to him

No matter the caliber of actor i've seen or heard has said anything other then that Dracula is Bela's role they all admit it is his and everyone else is just trying to live up to him not bad for a guy who died broke and was nothing more than a b movie actor with a drug habit

Lugosi can be credited for creating the vampire archetype, but in my opinion, it was Lee who perfected it. Lugosi's accent, the cape, the movements - all classic stuff, but Lee really changed the way cinematic vampires were protrayed forever. Not only was he animalistic, he was commanding, intimidating, and of course, sexually powerful. I'm sorry, but when Lee busts in on his "bride" and Harker in Horror of Dracula - hissing, fangs barred, hands twisted into talons, eyes bloodshot red - I forgot all about Lugosi.

Ok first off, this is section is for 'classic horror' and I don't think Oldman would count in this poll, since this film was made in the 90's. Anyhow, of the actors who had portrayed the Count, in a classic Dracula film, I'd say Chris Lee gets my vote. :vamp:

Gotta go with Bela, although Christopher Lee did a fantastic job as well.

Bela may be the most recognizable, but Lee's always been my favorite Dracula.

It will always be Bela for me. :bela:

But IMO Gary Oldman did add something nice for the legacy of the role.

Bela, Followed veryclosely by Lee. Sometimes I think that Lee portrayed Dracula almost too animalistic. I think of Dracula as the Arch Fiend, the master villain. Lee’s Dracula (and this is Hammer’s fault) always seemed to be getting himself caught up in petty revenge plots that were bellow that character. Maybe that’s why I liked The Satanic rights of Dracula so much. Now there’s a movie with an evil plot worthy of the prince of darkness!
