I wanted to add Basil Rathbone and Dwight Frye, but am limited on the number of poll options I can put in... no offense to these great actors

who's the true king of horror?
Damn that was hard, I love them all, but I went with my man Peter Cushing, with a very close second to Boris Karloff and third for Vincent Price.
Gees!! That's like asking what limb I like better.
Tough poll!!!
Had to go with Christopher Lee though.
But it pained me greatly picking Lee over Cushing.

I said Peter Cushing, but this was a hard choice, second Lon Chaney Sr. "The Man of 1,000 Faces"
I had to go with Christopher Lee. I've always been into the movies for the monsters and the fact that he played Dracula, the mummy and Frankenstein's monster meant a lot to me as a kid. Seeing his resurgence, I think it would be hot if he played Dracula today.
I don't really think anyone can go wrong here. I can't argue if anyone wants to defend any of these guys. I ended up going with Karloff, but this poll is almost unfair. Don't make me choose!!!!
This is a very difficult question to ask. With so many great actors to choose from i found i needed to break it down . Peter Lorre i eliminated due to the fact he didn't have any break out roles the likes of Dracula and Frankenstein...etc.
Chaney Sr. i wanted to say him but if you look at his films he didn't do many horror films. Phantom of the Opera. is the only one i would consider a horror film. Hunchback wasn't technically horror nor was london after midnight. Cushing i didn't choose because to me his Portrayals i remember him for are only van helsing and dr. frankenstein and i felt they were very similar. I eventually decided to pick Lon Chaney Jr as my King of Horror. Now i know he may not seem like the most likly choice but if you look at it like this. He is the only actor to have played Frankenstein's monster, Dracula, The Wolfman, And the Mummy. His talbot i think should have been oscar worthy. He was the only one to play larry talbot. He was the first to follow Karloff as the monster which he did a decent job as. His portrayal of dracula in Son of gave the count an arrogance and territoriality i always assume the count would have. The Mummy he played it very well and more times than karloff. All these things are what led me to pick him.Christoper Lee thou i like the actor but back in the hammer days i only enjoyed his portrayal of The Count.

This is very tough indeed, I like all of them. But I'm going with Vincent Price followed by Peter Cushing.
Damn that was hard, I love them all, but I went with my man Peter Cushing, with a very close second to Boris Karloff and third for Vincent Price.-"The Cryptkeeper"
This is why I love you. A vote for my man Peter Cushing :sammy: lovelovelove him! (oh and I love Crypty too)
Tough call, but I'm going with Vincent Price.
It 's hard to choose from them all, but I finally picked Bela Lugosi (narrowly) over Vincent Price. "Dracula", "Son of Frankenstein", "The Black Cat"....do I need any more reasons?
Old Uncle Boris because I think he is the most versitile. (in my opionion)
From Frankenstein all the way to the episode of Thriller where he was the crypt keeper. His range was amazing. And his voice was incrdible.
And Poor Bela coming in second. Just because I loved the guy so much.

Very tough choice, but I went with Boris Karloff.
Based on longevity and sheer mass of appearances in horror films 9-whispers- not to mention the fact he might be watching us right now- 12I would have to say Christopher Lee. This was a very hard decision! I feel like I have stabbed my heros in the back! But they are not still around to find me and say horrible things to me in a cool British accent!
This was an extremely hard choice. All of the listed actors are gifted and have given us memorable peformances. I chose Boris Karloff because of Bride of Frankenstein, a masterpiece.
This is the toughest poll to date.
I went with Lee....but Bela was a VERY close 2nd.
Everyone on this poll is worthy of votes

As tough as it was, I had to go with Vincent Price. I almost too Boris, but even the thought of Price's voice gives me chills.
I know I am the dick for saying this. But I could care less about most of them. They were all in movies that I don't like. I'm not saying that they are bad movies, because realisticly they aren't. I just never much cared for them.
This is an impossible poll! In the end, while Bela is my favorite I think that Boris is most deserving. Ah screw it; Bela it is.
